Aryna Sabalenka shared her deep appreciation for having her boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis, by her side. In a conversation with People Magazine, Sabalenka shared that since they started their relationship, Frangulis has been a source of steadfast support during some of the toughest times in her life.

The Belarusian added they frequently participate in enjoyable activities together to help her unwind from the pressures of tennis and savor life. She said,

“There was a really tough period where I was really happy to have him by my side, always cheering me up, always making sure that we are doing some fun stuff. But I make sure I kind of forget about tennis and focus on the good things and enjoy my life. Even when things are going wrong in my career.”

Sabalenka added,

“So yeah, he was my biggest support and yeah, really happy to have him by my side.”

Sabalenka is preparing for her third main draw appearance at the 2024 China Open in Beijing, scheduled from September 25 to October 6. Sabalenka first competed in Beijing in 2017, and her debut at the tournament ended early as she fell in the first round of qualifiers to Christina McHale 1-6, 6-1, 6-4.

However, in 2018, she made a strong comeback, defeating Garbine Muguruza and Caroline Garcia to reach the quarterfinals, where she lost to Wang Qiang 7-5, 7-5.

Aryna Sabalenka experienced another setback in 2019, exiting early after a first-round defeat to Daria Kasatkina 6-4, 7-6(5).

The Belarusian’s 2023 campaign was more successful as she stormed past Sofia Kenin, Katie Boulter, and Jasmine Paolini to reach the quarterfinals, only to be stopped by Elena Rybakina 7-5, 6-2.
