REGARDING IRELAND 🇮🇪:
Many are saying the origin of the word Ireland / EIRE comes from Gaelic goddess Eriu.
This video is not denying that modern day Ireland may have been named after the goddess Eriu.
However, as with many origin stories, they are often disputed or unconfirmed in academia. And that certain words may have deeper etymologies that are not commonly known.
Below are a few sources for anyone interested in further exploration of this issue:
📚1. The History of Ireland – by Geoffrey Keating. (Originally written 17th Century.) Book 1 Section 1.
This book states Ireland has been called by multiple names through the ages including: Crioch na bhfuineadhach, Inis Ealga, Inis Fáil, Fódhla, Banbha, Muicinis, Scotia, Hibernia. And more. Each name with its own origin story.
📚2. The Story of the Irish race – by Seumus Mac Manus (First published 1921) Page 19.
Quote::
“One of its ancient titles was Hibernia (used by Caesar) —^which some trace from Ivernia, the name, it is said, of a people located in the south of the Island; but most trace it from Eber or Heber, the first Milesian king of the southern half; just as the much later name, Ireland, is by some traced from Ir, whose family were in the northeastern corner of the Island. Though it seems much more likely that this latter name was derived from the most common title given to the Island by its own inhabitants, Eire—whence Eire-land, Ireland. It was first the Northmen and then the Saxons, who, in the ninth and tenth century began calling it Ir-land or Ir-landa Ireland
In the oldest-known foreign reference to Ireland, it was called IERNA. This was the title used by the poet Orpheus in the time of Cyrus of Persia, in the sixth century before Christ. Aristotle, in his Book of the World, also called it IERNA.“
📚3. Inquiry into the Origin of the Name of Ireland, by Adolphe Pictet, printed in Ulster Journal of Archaeology, First Series, Vol. 5 (1857), pp. 52-60 (9 pages)::
“It is well known that Arya, Airya, is the oldest known national name of the Indo-Germanic stock, common to the two great eastern branches, and widely spread in Asia. What precise idea was attached to it is indeed uncertain, but it must have been an honourable appellation, and very likely signified “the worthy,” ” the excellent.”
The numerous points of contact which we have pointed out in the root and the derived forms, make it in the highest degree probable that the national name of the Irish, Er, ” the good,” “the honorable,” “the heroic,” is connected with that of the Aryans, and that the form Ereo is perhaps actually equivalent to Arya. If we consider that the Gaelic Celts unquestionably belong to the earliest migrations from the common mother-country; if we further observe the many pure Sanscrit words and roots which the Irish alone, of all the cognate languages, has preserved, a circumstance which Bopp has already pointed out, [Celt. &’r., 4] and of which an example may be seen in my Essay on the names of the sun, [Kuhn’s Zeitschr., IV., 346], this conjecture will not seem too bold. ”

I hope the above sources demonstrate that there MAY be deeper origins to the term EIRE.
THANKS!

Proof this guy makes up distinctive facts. Revisionist history is dangerously misleading.
Stupid person….
Here he goes again! Rubbish rubbish rubbish. In Irish mythology, Ériu (Old Irish: [ˈeːrʲu]; Modern Irish: Éire [ˈeːɾʲə] ), daughter of Delbáeth and Ernmas of the Tuatha Dé Danann, was the eponymous matron goddess of Ireland. And dont get me started on Iranian history and Etymology!!! Someone shut this muppet up!!
The original name of Iran was Persia where Persians lived.
In ancient times they named the land after the people living there.
Greece where Greeks lived, Rome where Romans, Arabia where Arabs and so forth…
