On December 19, 2024, the Fourth Annual Christmas Concert of the Holy Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain, sponsored by the Christos Lazaris Foundation, took place at the historic Cathedral of the Divine Wisdom in Bayswater, London.
More than 300 distinguished guests attended the event, which has now become a cherished Christmas tradition.
The event was graced by the presence of distinguished Orthodox clergymen from sister ecclesiastical jurisdictions in the United Kingdom, prominent religious leaders from other Christian denominations, and esteemed members of the diplomatic community, who honored the event with their attendance.
The evening commenced with a heartfelt and welcoming address by Archimandrite Nifon Tsimalis, Protosyncellus of the Holy Archdiocese and Hierarchical Head of the Cathedral.
The musical evening opened with a captivating performance of Byzantine Christmas hymns by the Archdiocesan School of Byzantine Music, expertly led by Protopresbyter Joseph Paliouras.
The performance was followed by an exceptional presentation by the internationally renowned and acclaimed musical ensemble Voces8 Scholars, under the virtuosic direction of Harry Mobbs.
During the intermission, Archbishop Nikitas shared profound reflections and spiritual guidance, emphasizing the profound significance of the Great Feast of Christmas.
Following the conclusion of the musical program, a festive reception was hosted in the historic Crypt of the Cathedral. During the reception, the Archdiocesan Choir captivated the audience with a masterful performance of traditional Greek carols, accompanied by traditional musical instruments, creating a joyful and festive atmosphere for all attendees.
