ANDORRA: No Eurovision Comeback in 2026 – TV3 Deal Falls Through?

Andorra’s public broadcaster, RTVA, has confirmed that the country will not participate in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2026.

The announcement was made through an official statement sent to the Eurofestivales website, with RTVA stating that they have no intention of returning to the contest, nor of proceeding with any collaboration with the Catalan television station TV3 for this purpose.

The possibility of Andorra’s return was brought back to the fore earlier this year, when executives from TV3 ‘s entertainment department visited Andorra to present a collaboration proposal. According to radio network RAC1, the proposal involved selecting the winner of the Eufòria music contest as the country’s representative at Eurovision 2026.

Eufòria, organized by TV3 since 2022, gives the opportunity to 16 singers to compete for a record production contract. Despite the relevant discussions, RTVA rejected the proposal, maintaining its position of abstaining from the contest, as it has done since 2009. This decision confirms the small principality’s cautious attitude towards the Eurovision contest, despite the strong interest from pro-European and music circles for a possible return.
