Later this month, a long-standing Short North eatery will close its doors due to a leasing issue.
Earlier today, The Happy Greek announced that it will close its Short North storefront on Feb. 15.
“After nearly 20 years of proudly serving this community, we are deeply saddened to announce the closure of our family-owned restaurant. Despite our best efforts to renew our lease, we’ve been unable to reach an agreement with our landlord and are being forced to close,” a post made to The Happy Greek’s social media accounts reads.

The restaurant is located at 660 N. High St.
While this means the concept’s Short North space is coming to an end, The Happy Greek may reopen somewhere else. The restaurant’s statement noted it is “exploring options for a new location,” although it did not state where.
