No Yassou! Greek Festival this year, organizers say

WOOD Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — There will be no Yassou! Greek Festival in Grand Rapids this year, the festival announced on its website.

“Yassou is taking a much needed break!” a pop-up on the festival’s website reads.

Yassou! Greek Festival in Grand Rapids offers ‘community, food, drink and dance’

The annual celebration is held each August at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on Lakeside Drive off of Michigan Street in Grand Rapids, featuring Greek food, music, dancing and more.

But Yassou!, the group that runs the festival each year, is taking 2026 off. It says it will resume celebrations in 2027. It’s not clear why organizers are taking the yearlong break.
