NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The New Orleans Greek Festival pushed back its start time to 6:30 p.m. Friday as heavy rain fell along Bayou St. John, according to organizers.
Friday marks the start of the 51st New Orleans Greek Festival. Organizers say this year’s celebration is bigger and better than ever.
The festival runs Friday through Sunday, May 24, along Bayou St. John at Allen Toussaint Boulevard.
This year’s theme is “Your Odyssey Begins Here,” inspired by the richness of ancient Greece.
The festival features homemade Greek food, live music, dancing, pastries, Greek wine and Mythos beer.
The festival is going completely cashless this year.
The Hellenic Dancers take the stage at the Holy Trinity Cathedral Center at 6 p.m.
Admission tickets are available at the gate.
