Decades ago, I lived next door to a Greek family — and their mum was an incredible cook. She taught me a few dishes I’ve never forgotten, and this is one of them. What I love most? It’s simple. Just a handful of fresh ingredients, bold flavours, and such an easy way to bring a taste of Greece to your table.
In this video you’ll learn how to:
✔️ Strain Greek yogurt for thick, creamy tzatziki
✔️ Make a quick marinade for pork or chicken souvlaki
✔️ Build a fresh Greek salad with the perfect lemon-olive oil dressing
✔️ Cook souvlaki skewers in a pan (or on the barbecue if you prefer)
It’s everything I love about Greek food — fresh, healthy, family-friendly, and full of flavour.

Just a little tip I’ve seen – after skewering the pork, you can place them in a baking tray, cover tightly with foil, and cook at 180 °C (350 °F) for about 1 hour. Then uncover and grill for around 20 minutes, turning halfway. It makes them really tender and delicious and saves a mess on the stovetop! 🥢✨
Hope you enjoy this one – I’ve been making it a lot lately, it’s fresh, simple and really yum.

Our local Greek restaurant closed during lockdown and never reopened.
It had been in our neighborhood for many decades and we had many family celebrations and get togethers there. I really appreciate you sharing as I’ve never made Greek food. I am going to make your recipes and when I got the recipes mastered, I’ll have a family and friends gathering. Thank you!
i will for sure cook that Greek platter looks amazing ,,,,,,,,,THANK,S so much for showing us how to cook it ………..
Loved your recipe but PLEASE learn the correct pronounciation – it is NOT TASIKI it is T-ZATZIKI or Tzatziki! Just ask a Greek!
Thankyou! New sub from Melbourne!
Mediterranean food is my favorite and so good when consumed in a Mediterranean atmosphere 👍
Great meal! Thank you for the recipe
All that liquid that you drained from your Greek yogurt is protein, nutrient dense and FILLED WITH MILLIONS OF BACTERIA GREAT FOR YOUR GUT! Don't throw that away!
wow you just taught me to strain yogurt – thanks!
I am going to make this. Thank you for inspiring me. looks so nice I can taste it through the screen.
Turkish Cacık nice
Pro tip: Tell people what you are cooking.
Lovely indeed
Missing some flatbread
Lemon and rosemary works well in Greek dishes 👍
I am happy to see another souvlaki fan – so many just settle for this terrible gyros ….
However a few corrections/additions:
You need to use Crete mountain oregano and not that excuse of an oregano you buy at the grocery store
Mountain oregano is more intense in flavor and right
So is adding also thyme – not only oregano
When it comes to Greek Joghurt dont buy the imitation and get what real Greek yoghurt is : Fage is the real deal – the rest a sad excuse
I found all my child hood summers in Crete with locals so I know what I am talking about.
Definitely going to try this😊
To clarify the recipe, it sounded like you said to add a capsaicin pepper. It looked like a sweet green bell pepper, is it really a hot capsacicin?
I highly recommend using a food processor. Also, save those cucumber skins! Once you've blended everything, taste it, adjust seasoning and buzz in cucumber skins and taste after each addition until you've reached your cucumber taste preference.
What is the purpose of skewers when you can just fry the cubes in the pan😂. Just to name them Su flakee or what ever you said the name.
Ooooooh I’m transported back to Cyprus where I lived for 2 years – this looks amazing and I can practically taste it. Thank you for sharing….on my to do list! 👏🏻🇬🇧
Wow! Will try it for sure
You can use a bowl with its own cover and cut down on plastic wrap, but overall, this is a fantastic recipe.
Hi . Very simple and feels delicious. But I have 1 problem. What is the best substitute for white wine which you used for marination.
Me gustó mucho gracias❤

Pork is garbage meat
Pigs eat their shit and dead meat
I add just a bit of feta to my tzatziki. But love your tips, ❤ thank you
Great lady, great food ❤
For the Souvlaki, in the absence of a charcoal B-B-Q, I would use a cast iron griddle pan; the taste will be superior to an ordinary frying pan.
Looks really fabulous, thank you. I think that's going to become a filling for my next wrap….
That liquid is whey and you’ve turned the yogurt into Labneh
