Just one week remains before the Greek delegation departs for Vienna for the 70th Eurovision Song Contest. Following the tradition of recent years, a farewell party will be held tonight at a club in Athens, marking the official send-off for Greece’s team.
Greece’s public broadcaster ERT is entering this year’s competition with high hopes and big expectations. The song “Ferto” has captured audiences from the moment of its release, both in Greece and abroad, and is consistently ranking within the top five in Eurovision 2026 betting odds. As Akylas—the country’s representative—and the rest of the delegation prepare to leave for Vienna, the farewell event offers fans and media the chance to wish him good luck and, as many hope, “bring it home.”
Joining Akylas at the party will be the full team set to appear on stage with him, including actors Parthena Horozidou and Christos Nikolaou, as well as dancers Michalis Michailidis and Konstantinos Karypidis.
Also attending the event are three fellow contestants from the national selection show Sing for Greece—Evangelia, Stylianos and Kiana—who are expected to perform live, entertaining the crowd and adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
It is also worth noting that today marks a key moment for the Greek entry, as a rehearsal simulation is scheduled to take place in Vienna—an important step ahead of the live competition.
All eyes are now on Greece as the countdown to Eurovision 2026 enters its final stretch.
