Four rising Melbourne-based Greek Australian performers Angelina Téa Sevastopoulos, Charlotte Maria Holland, John Yanko and Erica Giorgedakis are set to feature in Theatrical Symphony, a three-night event at the National Theatre in St Kilda this April.
The show features a cast of some of the strongest up-and-coming musical theatre stars performing hits from blockbuster musicals such as Les Misérables, Matilda, Annie, Dear Evan Hansen, RENT and Wicked, accompanied by a live 36-piece orchestra.
The setlist will provide opportunities for every cast member to have their moment to shine, something rarely seen in a stand-alone musical.
For soloist Angelina, she knew she had to audition as soon as she saw the setlist.

“When I saw “Send in the Clowns” on the draft setlist last year, I knew I had to audition,” she told Neos Kosmos.
“There’s nothing I love more than performing Sondheim, and getting to sing one of his greatest pieces with such an incredible orchestra is a dream come true.”
A graduate of NIDA’s Diploma of Musical Theatre, her recent credits include Once Upon a One More Time, Legally Blonde, and The Boy from Oz. She is also part of Melbourne’s upcoming Witches in Britches show season.
Angelina credits both her parents and her Greek roots for her love of the arts.
Her dad George was a singer and bouzouki player, both solo and part of the band ‘The Athenians’, and her mum Leanne has always loved the performing arts.
“Being surrounded by that music in my formative years definitely inspired my lifelong passion for singing,” she said while adding that her mum enrolled her in ballet class at three years old.
By Year 11 she was doing multiple classes, six days a week.
“I am eternally grateful for her unwavering support; I’d never be where I am now without her,” she said.
“Us Greeks are so innately passionate and expressive in everything we do; I think my knack for performing is really rooted in our cultural identity.”
“I believe representation in this industry is so important, so getting to bring my cultural experience and perspective to any performance is always a fantastic opportunity.”

Erica and Charlotte are both part of the adult chorus ensemble.
Erica has been performing on stage since she was four with some of her recent
highlights include taking on various roles in her high school productions such as Anastasia in Anastasia (2025), Crutchie in Newsies (2024), and her first professional show as Gabriella in High School Musical (2026).
Erica is “so excited to be a part of this incredible cast and is endlessly grateful for all the support from her friends, teachers, and family.”
Charlotte has trained at leading institutions including NIDA and Melbourne’s 16th Street Actors Studio and has theatre credits including The Sound of Music (Liesl Von Trapp) and A Chorus Line (Diana Morales).
She told Neos Kosmos she was drawn to show because of its completely new experience.
“It’s such a unique opportunity to perform a collection of songs that I genuinely love, all within one production,” she said, adding that it’s “completely different from other shows I’ve done”.

Charlotte’s journey into musical theatre began with dance and singing from a young age but she was always drawn to storytelling and the stage.
“One of my earliest inspirations was my yiayia Sophia, who had a beautiful voice and always sang traditional Greek songs and taught me Greek dancing and loved watching me perform,” she said.
She too said her heritage plays a big role in who she is as a performer.
“My first trip to Greece as a young girl sitting in an ancient theatre wondering what it would have been like performing thousands of years ago remains vivid in my memory.”
“There’s such a strong cultural emphasis on storytelling, expression and community, which naturally translates into performance.
“I feel a deep sense of pride representing my cultural background, and it motivates me to bring authenticity and passion to everything I do.”

John, like Angelina, will perform as soloist (Gethsemane – Jesus Christ Superstar) / Male Soloist (Seasons of Love – Rent) / Enjolras (Les Misérables Medley).
Last year John made his television debut on ABC’s hit new series The Piano. He has also had extensive experience as a solo artist, in bands and musical theatre.
In previous years, John has performed in lead roles in musicals such as Seussical The Musical, We Will Rock You and has appeared as Shrek in Shrek The Musical and Dewey Finn in School of Rock The Musical.
The singer/songwriter is Greek, Italian and Egyptian, with his yiayia an Egyptian-born Greek.
He has previously told Neos Kosmos that he’s always loved music and performing.
“I knew from a young age I wanted to play music and entertain people. My father is a musician and always surrounded me with good music that I would love to listen to,” he said.
Theatrical Symphony will play for three nights only at The National Theatre in St Kilda from April 10-12.
