“Zorba-The Greek”/ Concert with the music of the renowned composer

“Zorba -The Greek”, this is the title of a special concert with the music of the renowned Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis, which comes as a premiere event on the TKOBAP stage.

The concert is conceived as a journey through the most famous cycles of composer Theodorakis’ creativity and brings together pieces from the cycles “Axion Esti”, “Epitafios”, “Epifania”, “Ta Lyrika” and other works, based on the late poetry of great Greek poets such as Odysseas Elytis, Yannis Ritsos, Tasos Livaditis and others.

The concert evening is designed as a stage presentation of the living spirit of Greece through a universe that is as artistic and intimate as it is magnificent.

The premiere at TKOBAP comes with the interpretation of artists such as soloist baritone Artur Vera and pianist Etrita Ibrahimi, also with the special presence of the symbolic instrument of Greek music, the bouzouki, interpreted by Panagiotis Lympanovnos, as well as with the interpretation of poems by actor Juliano Briscus, this evening takes the form of a true artistic narrative.

Mikis Theodorakis is considered one of the most important personalities of Greek music.

At the age of just 12, he composed his first musical work, while at the age of 17 he gave his first recital in Tripoli with his work “Cassiani”.

Theodorakis composed perhaps the most famous Greek rhythm in the world, the so-called syrtaki from the film “Alexis Zorbas” (1964), while his songs were performed by famous artists such as the Beatles, Shirley Bassey and Edith Piaf.

The concert also comes as a memorial to the composer, who passed away in 2021 at the age of 96. /CNA
