Vudu Sister – Album Release Concert
Keith McCurdy is the singer and songwriter for Vudu Sister. He draws inspiration from ghost stories, the macabre and ancient Greek drama. In our interview from 2024, he said, “Going to the theater, (for the Greeks), was a religious experience; it wasn’t just entertainment. So I find something very spiritually cleansing about confronting these realities. I think art is the one of the best ways to deal with some of those things.” Vudu Sister is releasing their new album, Adynata, this week and celebrating with a show featuring openers Long Kate and Eryka Fir of Coma Hole.

Yo Soy Minerva
Minerva Argentina Mirabal, a pivotal figure in the Dominican Republic’s history, led a courageous fight against the brutal dictatorship of Rafael Trujillo in the mid-20th century. Alongside her sisters, Patria and María Teresa, she formed part of the underground opposition movement against Trujillo’s oppressive regime. This Teatro ECAS production brings the tenacious fight of these strong women to the stage. Performed in Spanish with English supertitles.

Beppe Gambetta with Victor Main
Gambetta is a guitarist, vocalist, researcher, and composer born in Genova, Italy, who developed a concert presentation style that brings American and European roots together in one voice. In his unique approach, Gambetta blends energetic grooves with passionate melodies, breathing new life into sources from different times, periods, and places. His original compositions also bring contemporary influences to traditional roots music.

Hip-Hop violin of Big Lux
The larger-than-life musician is redefining how we perceive the violin and the world. His music reflects a life spanning five continents and multiple war zones. Blending classical training with hip-hop, bluegrass, jazz, and personal stories, he creates an immersive experience for his audience.

Storytelling from The Moth
The Moth Mainstage features personal stories, told live (no notes!) in front of an audience. You can hear The Moth Radio Hour every Sunday at 11:00 a.m. on Ocean State Media, and now you can see the show live at the Zeiterion. Five seasoned storytellers will share extraordinary true stories that delve into the idea of the American Dream. Does it even exist anymore? For whom? What happens when the dream rubs up against reality? What happens when it’s dashed or deferred? And what happens when the dream comes true?
