I lived in Salonika and I agree the food is amazing and I prefer it to Athans
When you talk about the history of Thessaloniki it will be proper to tell about the Jewish community
Πήγατε μητρόπολεως και δεν φάγατε στον Γιάννη που είναι δίπλα ρε αλάνια 😢
Too good guys…. great to see these positive sides to your travels…
Great food and history… still intact
I loved your Bulgaria show
And no islamic hordes in sight!!!
as a local, I really appreciate the research you guys did about out city! glad you had fun!! ❤
Barley rusks is what was at the bottom of the dakos
Greetings from Greece! Thank you so much for visting our country
Greek food is 💩.
I would so est that salad and the calamari. Your video makee me want to run over to my favorite Greek restaurant for a Gyro with a Greek salad!
Greetings from Palm Springs Calgary USA. 😊
My favourite city… lived there for many years before moving to another country. All restaurants are packed during siesta time 12-5pm. We ate out every day and would sit around the table for a few hours, just chatting and eating. I found drinking tsipiro with a bit of water was best. Wow, I miss Salonika.
The food looks amazing!!!
The good Lord provided unique spices, flavors, and foods for all the nations. Your descriptions of each bite make my mouth water. Safe travels❤
THESE TWO have poor undertanding of good food. Greek cuisine is't that great at all .
Now THAT amigos was The BEST Vid of yours that I have yet to watch and Thoroughly Enjoy. 👉 Y U M M Y indeed…. where I could smell-n-taste those treats at that comfy patio restaurant even from here in my equally seductive, current Pacific Tropics beachside home "palapa" !!!! 😋🥰😘
I too am an absolute "die hard" Foodie when it comes to ANY international travel…. And the wonderful diversity of excellent Greek food is something that I haven't "immersed myself in" for many, many years….. But perhaps soon, once EU "authenticity" returns, uncontrolled criminality is contained, endless regional wars subside, and the Outrageous Quantity of graffiti gets "washed away"…. along with Those Elements complicit in such unforgivably irresponsible "Social Conduct". 😯🙏👍🤣
OH….. Very Best Regards….. y Viajen Con Dios….. Siempre 🤟✌
Bring on the Angels! 👼👼😘😘
spices look awesome and olives bet the wine is superb
18:58 this is a rusk (twice baked bread from barley) which Greeks soak in water (to chew easier) and add in salads. It's amazing with olive oil. In Krete they put olive oil on it, add grated tomato and pieces of feta cheese – it's called dakos/ντάκος – and eat it as a side in almost every lunch.
22:12 The meatballs are called soutzoukakia, they have cumin in them, and the best is the recipe that the Greeks who were living in Constantinople and Smyrni brought with them after the Greek-Armenian-Assyrian 1915-1922 genocide from the Turks. They are called soytzoukakia smyrne-ika.
27:48 this seems to be mastiha liqueur, this is based on a tree resin produced only on the south part of Chios island and it's really good for digestion. It's a common treat after a restaurant lunch. In Greece they use mastiha instead of rum in many cocktails. But, it's also added in sweets, medicines and hygiene products.
not necessarily to shop, but to learn. so learning while you shop is an amazing thing..
Did someone say 'open air market'''!! I am so jealous I have to stop in every booth,
