Greek singer Ioulia Karapataki has been announced as the headline performer for two major Greek cultural festivals in Australia this year.
The Greek Community of Melbourne and the Greek Orthodox Community of New South Wales confirmed that Karapataki will appear at the Antipodes Festival in Melbourne and the Greek Festival of Sydney at Darling Harbour.
Karapataki is scheduled to perform at the Antipodes Festival on Saturday 28 February, followed by a performance at the Greek Festival of Sydney on Sunday 1 March.
The artist is known for a musical style that combines contemporary Greek music with folk elements. Her recent work includes the song To Glenti (Το Γλέντι), which became a massive hit in summer period.
Antipodes Festival Director Jorge Menidis said the singer’s appearance forms part of the festival’s 2026 program.
“Ioulia Karapataki has been a much sought-after artist that we are pleased to include,” Menidis said in a media release.
Her performances align well with the scope of the Antipodes Festival.”
Greek Festival of Sydney Chair Pamela Proestos said Karapataki’s Sydney appearance would be among the scheduled performances at the Darling Harbour event.
“We are pleased to present Ioulia Karapataki as part of this year’s festival program,” Proestos said.
Both festivals are annual events that attract large audiences and feature music, food and cultural activities.
Further program details are expected to be released by organisers closer to the event dates.
