The city is smaller , cleaner and greener than the capitol and the Northern Style of greek cuisine will knock your socks off !
Greek food is just so, so, so delicious, but unfortunately it’s also the most underrated cuisines in the world! I can’t agree with you about the comment that you can’t go wrong in Athens (those dodgy tourist traps unfortunately do exist)! But if you choose to go where the locals go (you can’t go wrong)! Athens is such a great city with great locals, climate, history, vibe, food, culture, wine & beer and great nightlife (clubbing starts at midnight)! I had the best time when I was working as a fine dining chef in Europe and Asia, (but Greece stole my heart and had the fondest memories)! Truly Greece is such a beautiful and wonderful country.
