Paqla-va is of Persian origin word but
Byzantines called it Αμφιφυλλον- amphiphyllon (dual layer ) way before since 4th century AD
whereas the same recipe is described by ancient Greeks as Πλακους-plakous
in both cases Greeks (ancient and Byzantines) use honey until today instead of syrup that Persians and Turks use

I believe many dishes are not specific to ethnic groups but to geographical regions. No matter who comes to a region, they continue to eat the same dishes with different twists. In fact, in a globalized world, this is changing. Döner has almost become the national dish of Germany. Many Germans mistake döner for German food. I don't think there's any problem with it.
Greeks (orthodox turks) and Turks have similar DNA. She basically went to her second “home".
