On the second leg of our adventure in the Greek Islands, we took a Blue Star Ferry from Crete to the much smaller island of Karpathos. We spent five days exploring the sights on this beautiful, lightly developed island and got to spend some time with our friend Jimmy’s relatives, who still call Karpathos home.
Some of the highlights include:
– The Capital and main port city of Pigadia
– Our stay at the amazing Konstantinos Palace @konstantinospalacehotel2324
– A drive to the isolated town of Olympos
– The world famous Apella Beach
– Marina’s Restaurant in Finiki
– The Church tower in Arkasa build by Jimmy’s grandfather, Emmanuel Fellouzis
– An incredible, traditional Greek dinner at Parthenon Taverna in Arkasa with our host, Nick Lyristis, playing his lyra an singing (the best part of our two weeks in Greece!)
– A tour of caves on the “Nemo” glass-bottom boat
We hope you enjoy this video and will subscribe to our channel (youtube.com/@CarryUsAway) to be notified when the videos from the rest of our trip through Greece are uploaded.
Our next stop will be the island or Rhodes (Rodos) for several days, followed by a couple days in Athens.
Thank you and happy travels!

And … Gothenburg is in Sweden … 😉
You could have just crossed the street to Nena's place, Nostimies, in the opposite corner for your first lunch … 😉
Didn't you check on the box of ouzo what the content was? It's marked on the box what the quantity is.
The video was excellent by the way. I live in Arkasa ❤❤❤❤
Who is Jimmy’s parents , I am very curious, my mom was from the Fellouzis family ???
Did you like the island? Do you recommend to visit?
Oh, and it's interesting that you pronounce Karpathos the way you do? I assume you are pronouncing it the way the locals do? I have always been under the impression that it was pronounced car-PAY-thos?
Looks like I have some bingeing to do. I guess my subscription snafu really messed things up? I didn't get any notifications and just thought that you guys hadn't been anywhere or vlogged about it? Geeze….my bad. Greece is somewhere I'd like to visit but it's just sooo far from the US! (not a fan of airports, lol)
