Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians features Ares’ symbol from the Hades games, but it’s not clear whether it’s a nice easter egg or the result of a quick glance at Google images.
From the moment that the first Hades released in early access, it has become one of the biggest darlings in the world of indie games. That love only continued to grow (well, outside of the ending, at least) with the release of Hades 2, to the point that I think it’s safe to say that a lot of people became interested in the world of Greek mythology thanks to Hades.
Hades’ depiction of the Greek gods has become so iconic that it’s likely what a lot of people think of when the pantheon is featured anywhere. It seems that also applies to some of the team on the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, as they’ve featured Ares’ symbol from the games in the show, either by accident or as an easter egg.
Ares’ Symbol From Hades Is Featured In Percy Jackson And The Olympians
It’s Also One Of The First Results On Google Images, So Connect The Dots
Over on the Camp Half Blood subreddit, Redditor StopForASecond shared a screenshot from one of the episodes of Percy Jackson and the Olympians‘ recently released second season. The screenshot in question shows a chariot with a symbol that should look very familiar to anyone who’s begged for Blade Dash to show up as one of Ares’ Boon.

I Still Love Zagreus, But I Hate The Way He’s Presented In Hades 2
The ending of Hades 2 has left a sour taste in the mouths of many fans, and here’s why.
That’s right, the Percy Jackson show has included Ares’ symbol from the Hades game to represent the god of war. This is especially noticeable since symbols representing Ares tend to focus on his iconic helmet instead of a weapon, something that the Hades games did a little differently.
While it’s possible that this is just a nice easter egg from the show’s creators to pay respect to the beloved games, there’s a chance that it’s actually a mistake. Redditors on the thread pointed out that Hades’ symbol for Ares is one of the first results on Google images, making it easy to imagine someone looking for references and using it for the show.
For now, no one from the Percy Jackson and the Olympians team has commented on the symbol being spotted, so it’s really not clear if it’s an intentional homage or just a mistaken copy. Let’s hope we get clarification soon.
