Join us as we explore the Greek island of Agistri, located close to Athens in the Saronic island group. Agistri is a very small island located close to the larger island of Aegina and is easily accessible from Piraeus via multiple daily ferries.
We spent 3 nights on the island, hiring a moped for one day to explore the sights. The food here is excellent and the prices are reasonable. Have you been to Agistri? Tell us what you think in the comments below.

tip to enjoy any Greek island : socialize with people
say good morning , hello etc. to people you see on the streets or in forest walks
HAHA ! I know you saw that steep go-down rock path to CHalikiada beach and you shat yours swimpants
daaamnn if I was there I would show you how to go down and up safely. ( I almost shat my pants too the first time I saw it )
For me a pebbly beach is best, the water clarity is always better and snorkelling much more interesting. Sand gets everywhere! You must wear swim shoes though.
I visited Agistri in 1990 and there was hardly anything there then. Loved the place and one on my list to re-visit.
Some observations for new visitors to Agistri: If you are staying more than a day or two you might consider buying some groceries from Sklavenitis, etc., at Piraeus or Aegina as there are no supermarkets on Agistri, just some small mini-marts.
There are a number of bike and scooter rental shops on Agistri. I recommend Logothetis in Myli and Moto Skala in Skala. I don't recommend Moto Kostas or Agistri Go Rentals in Skala due to poor customer service I experienced in those two shops.
Finally, the higher elevations of Agistri are laced with wide firebreaks which you can use to hike in solitude all across the island. With a cellphone mapping app there is no way you will get lost and the trails can be readily accessed from Megalochora, Skala, Limenaria, etc.
Nice views of Aegina and best of all it's rare to encounter other people….. nature all for you.
Hii thank you for the video. i have a question: how much does it cost the mopper?
I went to Agistri over 40 years ago and the beach was sandy.
We have 9 days to do the Saronic islands this summer. We are a couple with a 4 year old son. Where would you recommend? Ideally we would just do 1 or 2 islands so not to have too much travel. Have a car so not going to do Hydra but interested to know which of the others are best. Thanks
You missed Maritza 😅 and there is easier way to chlikiada
i've been to almost every island in greece, but haven't made it to agistri yet. maybe this summer! ps: i rather like the stone beaches. cleaner on my feet, plus the water is clearer since there's much less silt.
chalikiada is the best one there is an easy way to descend but you missed it
Agistri looks lovely, very chilled and walkable. The bucket list just got a little longer! I'm thinking fly into Athens, a couple of days here then on into the Cyclades next year!
