Greece: When will we listen to the songs of Ethnikós Telikós? – Eurovision News | Music

The success of Klavdia at this year’s Eurovision seems to have reignited the ERT’s enthusiasm for the contest, creating an unprecedented wave of submissions. ERT announced that this year it received 264 songs, a record-breaking number that reflects the renewed energy and growing excitement among artists and creators eager to take part in the selection process for Greece’s next Eurovision entry.

According to information revealed on Breakfast@Star, Ethnikós Telikós is expected to take place in late January, with up to 28 songs competing in the semi-finals. The same sources suggest that the announcement of the artists and their entries will happen just before the Christmas holidays. Additionally, there will be four backup songs to cover any disqualifications or unforeseen circumstances.

Until then, all submitted songs will be evaluated by a seven-member jury, of which only two members will come from ERT, a decision aimed at ensuring transparency and diversity of opinion.

It’s worth noting that the jury members announcement will take place after the song reveal, to maintain impartiality in the process.

This year’s major innovation of Ethnikós Telikós concerns the semi-final phase: only the public will decide which songs qualify for the final. There will be no jury voting, the power will belong entirely to the viewers.

In the Grand Final, however, the voting process will include two juries — one international and one domestic — which, together with the televoting, will determine Greece’s representative for Vienna.

As it seems, this holiday season will bring an early Christmas gift for Eurovision fans, as ERT prepares to unveil the songs that will set the stage on fire at Ethnikós Telikós and will compete for the ticket to Eurovision 2026!
