Giannis Antetokounmpo Makes NBA History Through Two Games

Basketball icon Giannis Antetokounmpo made NBA history following the Milwaukee Bucks’ 122-116 win over the Toronto Raptors on Friday night, thanks to his 60-30-10 stats through two games.

“Giannis Antetokounmpo is the first player in NBA history to accumulate 60 points, 30 rebounds and 10 assists through his first 2 games of a season,” per ESPN Insights.

The NBA star has enjoyed three separate seasons of over 30 points average per game, as well as over eleven ribounds per game and five assists per game.

 

4th highest earning NBA player this season

According to Forbes, Giannis Antetokounmpo is the 4th highest earning NBA player for 2025 and the top earner within the Milwaukee Bucks with 54.1 million USD – more than double than the team’s second highest paid player, Myles Turner. He also ranks 13th among the world’s highest-paid athletes.

In total, Giannis Antetokounmpo is projected to earn 99.1 million USD this season — 54.1 million USD on the court and 45 million USD off it.

The NBA star’s financial portfolio is just as dynamic, with sponsorships including Nike, Huggies, and JBL, alongside investments in the women’s basketball league Unrivaled, the sports-tech startup ScorePlay, as well as real estate and a winery in Greece.

Greek Freak celebrates “greatest accomplishment” at EuroBasket

The “Greek Freak” of NBA had a intense summer as he joined the Greek national basketball team in their effort to win the EuroBasket tournament.

While Greece’s EuroBasket 2025 journey ended in a bitter semifinal loss to Turkey, the team returned to the podium for the first time in 16 years, having won the bronze medal.

“We did it, this is probably the greatest accomplishment I have ever accomplished as an athlete,” Giannis Antetokounmpo said after Greece’s 92-89 victory over Finland for third place.

The two-time NBA MVP was named to the All-Star Five of EuroBasket 2025, along with David Schröder, Luka Dončić, Moritz Wagner, and Alperen Şengün.

His next game with the Milwaukee Bucks is Sunday, October 26, at 6 p.m. ET., facing the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Following his 2023 contract extension with Milwaukee, Giannis Antetokounmpo remains under contract for two more seasons, plus a player option for 2027-28. While he’s committed to the Bucks for now, he recently acknowledged that “the future can change,” and even expressed his wish to finish his career in Greece someday.
