NEW YORK — The acclaimed Greek-American TV host, six-time Emmy Nominee and author of ‘It’s All Greek to Me’ and ‘Greek.ish’ is coming to New York for a one-night-only evening of Mediterranean hospitality.
You’ve seen her on TV, you know her, and you love her – Debbie Matenopoulos is coming to New York City this November, to host an exclusive book signing event, while sharing her love for cooking with her fans.
Taking place at Limani, the up-scale Greek restaurant located in Rockefeller Center, on Thursday, November 6, the Greek-American TV personality will showcase her latest book, Greek.ish, which was released on June 18, earlier this year.
Featuring 54 carefully selected recipes, it was created to honor Matenopoulos’ late father, Niko Matenopoulos, and as her own personal love letter to Greece.
In an interview with The National Herald, Matenopoulos revealed how she felt about hosting her exclusive event in New York.
“I am super excited to be hosting this event at Limani Rockefeller Center. Not only is the venue absolutely stunning and in the absolute best location in New York City, but it also happens to be one of the best Greek restaurants in the city and one of my all-time favorites,” Matenopoulos told TNH.
“I am really looking forward to meeting everyone and sharing a meal and some laughs together. Being able to share my love of our food and our culture with people is something that has always brought me so much joy. I guess you could say it’s the ‘philotimo’ in me.”

Matenopoulos described the event as “very intimate, with lots of time for me to chat with everyone individually.”
“Upon arriving the guests will be greeted at the door with a signature cocktail using Kleos Mastiha. We will also be serving hors d’oeuvres from my new cookbook Greekish while mingling,” she explained.
“I will then walk everyone through a cooking demo with the executive chef [M.J. Alam]. We will teach everyone how to make Limani’s signature Lobster Pasta dish – which is my absolute favorite! Everyone will be served the dish to enjoy while we are making it live. We will then do a little wine tasting and sign some books and take some pictures.”
She also noted how every guest who comes along will also take home a bottle of Limani’s signature olive oil, as well as a signed copy of her latest cookbook.
The cookbook contains a variety of recipes from her mother, aunts in Greece, or uncle who owns a bakery, that the Greek-American author said she grew up with and loved.
In a previous interview with TNH, Matenopoulos said she named the book ‘Greek.ish’ because there are a lot of recipes in there that are in my normal weekly rotation, that I just cook for my family and my friends.”
“I put recipes in there that provide people with tips and simple things that they can do in the kitchen that will absolutely change their cooking skills and quality of the food they’re eating,” she previously stated.

When asked about why she decided to host this book-signing, cooking, and cocktail-tasting experience at Limani, Matenopoulos said it was due to its amazing atmosphere, as well as its incredible food.
“I wanted to do something different from a typical book signing. I wanted it to be more intimate and interactive,” she expressed.
“I wanted to do something where I could have real one-on-one interaction with the guests, and not just signing books and taking pictures. I wanted to truly offer them an interactive experience where I could share my love language with them – which is food.”
Debbie Matenopoulos’ collaborative event with Limani will take place on Thursday, November 6, from 6 PM to 8 PM.

“I hope to see you all at Limani on November 6th! It’s going to be a great time,” she added.
