Tornos News | Autumn in Patras with sports and music

Patra is preparing to live the last two months of autumn with rhythm, energy and culture, through two events that are expected to attract the interest of visitors from all over the country.

In particular, on October 11, the 4th Night Half Marathon “Fanis Tsimigatos” is scheduled to take place, organized by the Patras Regional Athletic Association “Kouros” with the support of the Region of Western Greece. The institution, loved by runners, managed to gather more than 3,000 participants last year, a number that gave a special boost to the local economy, filling the city’s hotels, restaurants and cafes. For a whole two days, Patras was transformed into a center of the running movement, with visitors coming from different parts of Greece to experience the night race.

The route, which is certified by AIMS and included in the official SEGAS calendar, highlights the city’s coastal front, from the new port to the Agia marsh, offering unique images through the live streaming that covers the entire race. In addition to the Half Marathon, parallel 5 km races for men and women, as well as 1 km for children, will be held, giving everyone the opportunity to participate in this great athletic celebration.

A few weeks later, on November 2, the interest is transferred to the Royal Theater, where the 1st Choir Meeting “Antichesis” is scheduled to take place. The event, co-organized by the Region of Western Greece and the Polyphonic Choir of Patras, aspires to become an institution, highlighting the rich choral tradition of the city. The participating choirs will present their programs within a specific time frame, aiming not only at artistic promotion but also at the further development of choral practice in the region.

With sports and culture coming together, Patras combines vitality with creation, offering residents and visitors experiences that go beyond the limits of everyday life.
