Vietnamese singer wins Intervision music competition in Moscow

The Vietnamese singer Duc Phuc was declared the winner of the Intervision music competition, which was organised on Saturday in Moscow as Russia’s answer to the Eurovision Song Contest.

The artist received 422 points from the jury, leaving The Nomad Trio from Kyrgyzstan in second place with 373 points and Qatar in third place. From the stage, Duc Phuc recalled his victory in a similar competition in Vietnam ten years ago.

After the announcement of the results, all contestants performed the song “A Million Voices” by the Russian singer Galina Gagarina.

The US participation was withdrawn after a request from the Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Vassy, the Australian singer of Greek descent who was going to represent them.

Russia participated outside of the competition. Shaman appeared on stage, but asked the audience not to vote for him, stating that he was not interested in competing for the win.
