CALIFORNIA – The annual Pasadena Greek Fest is set to take place this weekend, promising authentic Greek food, dancing, music, cultural activities and more for everyone.
Kicking off this Friday, September 19, the Greek Festival in California, will be held at Saint Anthony Greek Orthodox Church, at 778 S Rosemead Boulevard for its 66th year. Spanning over three days, including on Saturday 20, and Sunday 21 September, from 12-10 PM, this festival welcomes more than 10,000 visitors each year, with the majority being non-Greek.
On this year’s line up, people can expect to enjoy authentic Greek food, Greek dancing performances and lessons, guided tours of Saint Anthony, Greek cooking lessons, wine tasting, a Kidzone for children, with children’s rides and activities, and more.
The all-ages, family-friendly event will even host a Zorba Dance Competition, welcoming experienced dancers or even beginners to immerse themselves in the Greek culture, while also having fun.
There will also be a variety of Greek food on the menu for all who attend to purchase, including traditional souvlakia, gyro, Greek salad, feta fries, dolmades, calamari, grilled lamb chops, moussaka, pastitsio, spanakopita, tiropita, fasolakia, and more. Various Greek desserts will also be on offer including baklava, loukoumades, kataifi, karidopita, galaktoboureko, koulourakia, melomakarona, diples, pasta flora and floyeres. Drinks including hot Greek coffee, frappe, and alcoholic drinks including beers, wines and spirits will also be for sale.
Additionally, a raffle will be drawn on Sunday, at 8 PM, where people will have the opportunity to purchase tickets to win a Volkswagen car. Tickets can be purchased on the way.
Whether there’s rain, hail or shine, the Pasadena Greek Fest will take place regardless. Tickets to the Festival are $5 per person, for a single day pass, or $10 per person, for a whole weekend pass. Children under 12 will receive free admission. They can be purchased online on the Festival’s website at www.pasadenagreekfest.com, or in person on the day.
