The Atlanta Greek Film Expo returns to the historic Tara Theatre on October 17–19, 2025, marking a decade of presence and showcasing the best of contemporary Greek cinema. A film institution that continues to build bridges between Greece and the Greek community of Atlanta, it invites audiences to experience three days full of images, melodies and Greek passion.
This year’s event opens on Friday, October 17 at 7 p.m. with the much-talked-about film “Stelios,” which swept the box office in Greece and tells the story of the beloved singer Stelios Kazantzidis. The screening will be attended by the leading lady Asimenia Voulioti, who plays Marinella, for a live Q&A with the audience. The evening will continue with a Red Carpet Opening Party at the same venue.
On Saturday, October 18, the program includes the documentary “Takis” at 4 p.m. and the comedy “Murphy’s Law” at 7 p.m., while on Sunday, October 19, the dramatic films “Riviera” (2 p.m.) and “Meat” (5 p.m.) will be screened. At the same time, the audience will enjoy four short films and the premiere of the new music video by artist George Skaroulis from Atlanta.
The curtain will fall on Sunday evening with the Grand Finale Party at the famous Greek restaurant Kyma, where guests will celebrate “à la grecque” with flavors, music and lots of fun.
“Ten years ago, we launched Expo to bring Atlanta closer to the vibrant film culture of Greece,” said Maria Sharp, president of the Atlanta Greek Girls’ High School, which organizes the festival. “This anniversary edition honors that tradition with films, music and celebrations that reflect the heart of Greek creativity.”
