Adelaide’s Greek community is mourning the loss of one of its brightest cultural figures. Stelio Mitsos, affectionately known as DJ Stelio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, leaving behind a legacy of music, kefi, and connection. His wife, Priscilla, announced his passing with deep sorrow, saying she is devastated by his sudden death but grateful for the cherished memories they shared.
For more than two decades, Stelio was a cornerstone of South Australia’s Greek cultural life. As the founder of Glamour Entertainment, he was more than a DJ, he was a promoter, event organiser, and tireless supporter of Greek music and culture. From weddings and community celebrations to concerts featuring some of Greece’s biggest stars, Stelio created spaces where generations of Greeks could gather, celebrate, and feel at home.
He had a rare ability to bridge tradition and modernity, seamlessly blending the music of Greece’s heritage with contemporary beats. Known for his charisma and presence behind the decks, Stelio could read a room with ease, bringing people of all ages onto the dance floor.
Beyond the nightlife, Stelio was a devoted parishioner of St George Thebarton, where his compassion and generosity were as well remembered as his music. His faith and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Priscilla Mitsos shared a heartfelt tribute to her husband:
“Stelio was Adelaide’s best DJ. He started playing in clubs in the early ’90s, then went on to organise Greek nights at the Hilton, Margeaux’s, Buzz Club, EuroFest, and Karamela Nights. He had so much life, love, and energy. He loved his music and making people happy. He brought so much happiness and kefi to our community.
Glamour Entertainment started in 2022 as a wedding enhancement business that took off and became a one-stop shop for anything weddings.
Stelio also had a passion for promoting Greek singers. He brought us stars like Makropoulos, Kaiti Garbi, Peggy Zina, Ioulia Kalimani, Zoithakis, and Josephine. When anyone found out Stelio was playing, you knew it was going to be a good night. He helped us feel like we were in Greece, uniting our community even closer and creating memories for so many of us.

But beyond all that, he was my husband—the man I loved, admired, and supported through good times and bad. He was taken far too soon.”
Adelaide’s Greek community has expressed profound grief at the loss of DJ Stelio. Yet many believe his legacy, through Glamour Entertainment, the countless events he enlivened, and the joy he sparked on dance floors, will continue to live on.
Stelio is survived by his wife, Priscilla. He will be remembered not only for his music, but for the warmth, spirit, and love of community he carried in his heart and shared so generously.
