SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral held its annual Glendi festival over the weekend.
The celebration highlighted Greek culture featured food, dance, and music.
We spoke with an eventgoer from the cathedral, who talked to us about the event’s history. “Glendi has been around since 1978, the groundbreaking ceremony when we bought the memorial square library for a dollar was in 1977.” Said Xenophon A. Beake.
Proceeds from Glendi go to towards all the ministries of St. George.
