Mac DeMarco Warms Up at The Echo Ahead of Sold Out Greek Theatre LA Show and World Tour – Grimy Goods

Mac DeMarco will play a surprise warm-up show tonight, Tuesday, August 27at The Echo ahead of his three sold-out shows this weekend at the Greek. Following the trifecta of performances, Mac will head out on quite the lengthy world tour, taking him through May 2026. From North America to Europe and the UK, South America, and Asia, Mac DeMarco will be globetrotting harder than Dora the Explorer.

Mac’s Record Label artists, Mock Media, Tex Crick, Daryl Johns, and Vicky Farewell, will support throughout the tour.

It’s no surprise Mac added a last-minute warm-up show at the Echo. It’s a pleasant surprise that the beloved singer-songwriter often bestows upon his fans. In 2023, Mac announced a “Secret” Small Club Show at The Echo, ahead of his three shows at The Ford. And in 2019, he announced an intimate gig at The Echo ahead of his Coachella dates. DeMarco is one of those artists who never forgets his roots and often gives back to his fans in Los Angeles and the indie LA music scene, playing small-club shows. It’s one of the many reasons why he is so darn loved.

Mac DeMarco’s new album, Guitar, is out now. The album was written and recorded in its entirety in November 2024 at Mac’s home in Los Angeles. David Ives handled the mastering, but aside from that, Mac created and managed all aspects of this record on his own, including mixing the album in Canada and shooting the artwork using tripods. 

Mac shares, “I think Guitar is as close to a true representation of where I’m at in my life today as I can manage to put to paper. I’m happy to share this music, and look forward to playing these songs as many places as I’m able.”
