After the holidays, but with summer still in the air, XOAN invite you to the release show of their new album Tensions.
The band has gone through years filled with delays caused by accidents, evictions, and other forces beyond their control. In 2025, they have once again managed the impossible: completing and releasing a full album.
“Why?” someone might ask. And they would be right to wonder.
It is complicated.
XOAN were formed in 2018 and in 2020 they released ‘Greenhorn’, their first expression of love for alternative sound.
Today, with very active members of the local music community who each carry a long musical past, and after years of appearances on local stages, the band has created an album that refuses to be left aside.
From slow slacker rock with autotune to fast punk bpm. From bright melodic choruses to heavy atmospheric outbursts. From English lyrics to Greek, XOAN approach each song as its own universe.
The only constant is their dedication to songwriting and their references to the era when they themselves fell in love with music. They combine the elements of the golden age of the 90s and 00s with the sound of today in an effortless way.
Together with Marios Adamopoulos, who handled production and mixing, the band keeps a natural flow in the arrangements, leaving space for small and unexpected details. Within this soundscape, every song on Tensions brings inner conflicts, anxiety, doubts and fears to the surface and releases them through music.
Every note and every word acts like a small victory in an inner battle, turning anxiety into pure energy. Time, friendship, loneliness and nostalgia take shape and are set free in a sound that is rich in layers.
On Friday, September 19, the tension comes alive on stage at AUX CLUB.
