Which Metal bands does ChatGPT “identify” with the Greek folk singers

Artificial intelligence has the answer to many questions, and since it has actively entered our lives, it creates answers even for questions we…didn’t know we had.

The well-known musician Bob Katsionis, who often creates interesting videos on TikTok, decided to develop his own theory with ChatGPT with the goal of creating a…parallel universe where the great Greek folk singers are actually metal bands.

Specifically, the husband of Evridiki wrote on the well-known platform: “I want to compare the folk singers of Greece with the biggest Heavy Metal bands. According to my theory, Vasilis Karras is Metallica, Makis Christodoulopoulos is Iron Maiden, and Vasilis Terlegas is Megadeth. Who might the others be, and why?”

The interesting thing is that ChatGPT not only provided corresponding examples but also gave fully reasoned explanations.

The first parallel was Stratos Dionysiou with Black Sabbath: “The father of folk, deep and dark voice. Just as Sabbath laid the foundation for heavy metal, so did he support modern folk.”

A very interesting comparison was that of Notis Sfakianakis with Manowar, with Bob Katsionis enthusiastically saying: “I don’t need to read anything else, that’s it!”

As for the great Stelios Kazantzidis, in this… parallel universe, he would be Led Zeppelin, since according to AI: “The great mythical figure who influenced everyone, left a legend and the sense that after him nothing was the same.”

Stamatis Gonidis, on the other hand, was compared to Pantera for “the raw energy, heavy voice, lyrics that speak of pain, betrayal, and defiance.”

Next came Giorgos Margaritis, who was presented by AI as Slayer: “Harsh, sharp, raw sound and lyrics. Doesn’t sugarcoat. Speaks of the streets, alcohol, lawlessness.”

Meanwhile, Paschalis Terzis was compared to Judas Priest.

When the musician asked to find the counterpart of Anna Vissi, AI replied: Guns N’ Roses. “Rock star aura, scandals and excess, landmark albums and a double musical identity.”

Then, according to ChatGPT, Giannis Ploutarchos would be the Scorpions: “He is the ‘good guy’ of folk, with ballads loved by both women and men.”

At the same time, Lefteris Pantazis would be Bon Jovi thanks to the “pop-metal character of the stage, hits, dance, lifestyle, and always ready for a show.”

Christos Dantis was likened to Ozzy Osbourne: “Multifaceted, wild, rock character and folk soul. Just as Ozzy moved beyond Sabbath, so did Dantis between rock and folk.”

Giorgos Mazonakis was put in the same sentence as Marilyn Manson and Rammstein, with AI writing: “Eccentric with style and strange costumes. More performance than pure singing.”

Interesting too was the comparison for Katerina Stanisi, who was likened to Motörhead: “Raw, authentic, with rebetiko-folk grit. Just as Lemmy was Lemmy, Stanisi is Stanisi.”

Angela Dimitriou, meanwhile, was compared to Kiss due to her glamorous character.
Antypas would be Anthrax for their “party vibes” and energy.

Kaiti Garbi was compared to Evanescence because of her passionate female voice with dark romanticism.
One of the most… extreme comparisons was that of Efi Thodi with Cannibal Corpse: “Extreme spectacle, cult status. No one really understands how or why it works, but it has a fanatical audience.”

Also noteworthy was the comparison of Giorgos Dalaras with Dream Theater, as “he was progressive, technical, refined. Just as Dream Theater have progressive metal with high virtuosity, so Dalaras has the artistic side of folk.”

Finally, Pantelis Pantelidis was brought into the conversation and compared to Avenged Sevenfold: “He was building his own myth, brought a new audience to the genre, and left young, leaving behind a huge impact.”
