Hamilton to host multiple festivals this weekend


Hamiltonians can expect a busy weekend, as several festivals and events are taking place across the city.

Here’s what you need to know:

Dundas Cactus Festival

The 50th annual Dundas Cactus Festival begins this weekend and will run from Friday to Sunday.

This event is family friendly and will feature live music, roller skating, local vendors and more.

Road closures for the festival’s parade will start at 6 p.m. Friday and will remain in place until 10 p.m. The parade will begin at 6:45 p.m.

Step onto the Field: Celebrating 10 years of Hamilton Stadium

Hamilton Stadium is celebrating its 10th anniversary on Saturday. To mark the occasion, community members are invited to step onto the field for a day full of activities.

Attendees can expect to see mascots and cheerleaders, music, entertainment and video features on the stadium’s big screen.

Hamilton Latino Festival

The Hamilton Latino Festival runs from Friday to Sunday at Gage Park, located at 1000 Main Street E.

A wide range of vendors, live entertainment and food are expected.

The festival runs from 3 p.m. – 11 p.m. Friday, and 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Boots in the Creek Festival

Boots in the Creek is a free country music festival taking place in Stoney Creek this Friday and Saturday.

The festival aims to celebrate Canadian talent and expose local tourists to the rich heritage of downtown Stoney Creek.

Greek Festival

Hamilton’s only Greek festival runs Friday to Sunday at Inch Park.

For over 40 years, the festival has returned annually to celebrate and give the community a taste of Greek culture.

This event is family-friendly, and features a kids zone, authentic home-made Greek food, dancing, vendors, live performances and more.
