The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) announced the winner of the 2025 Florida Python Challenge, with a total of 294 pythons removed from South Florida’s ecosystems during the competition. The champion, Taylor Stanberry, a 29 year old woman who is only 4’11, captured 60 Burmese pythons and received a $10,000 award. The event, which involved 934 participants from 30 states and Canada, set a new record for python removals. Various prizes were awarded in categories such as novice, professional, and military participants, highlighting the importance of combating invasive species in Florida’s ecosystems.
