It’s only a matter of days before ERT publishes the official announcement for the national final for Eurovision 2026, officially launching Greece’s journey to Austria and the 70th Eurovision Song Contest.
According to our sources, ERT will release the announcement for the national final next week, which will also mark the opening of the submission period for entries. This process will last for two months, until the end of September.
Along with the announcement, we’ll also get a detailed look at the rules and regulations governing the national final (Ethnikos Telikos). We will find out whether the previous reports are confirmed — that this year’s national final, instead of being a one-night event, will consist of three nights, including two semifinals.
Throughout the previous weeks, the team at ERT working on the project has been preparing the announcement. Having now gone through all the bureaucratic processes of public television, the announcement is ready to be made public.
ERT’s goal for the Eurovision 2026 national final is to correct the mistakes of this year’s effort and to present something even more polished and high-quality for both the Greek and international audience. That’s why the process is starting earlier this year — to allow ample time for both the preliminary phases (submission of entries, selection of participants) and for the production of the televised event itself.
As always, Eurovisionfun will keep you informed with every new update and, just like last year, will give a platform to every artist or creator who wishes to test their strength and submit a song for Ethnikos Telikos — which promises to be fresher and more exciting than ever.
Who will follow in the footsteps of Klavdia and her “Asteromata”? Which artist would you like to see representing Greece in Austria?
