Morrissey’s scheduled performance at Release Athens festival on July 16 has been canceled due to an injury sustained by a member of his band, the festival organizers announced.
“A few hours ago, we were informed by Morrissey’s representatives that, due to an injury sustained by a member of his band – which also led to the cancellation of his previously scheduled show in Serbia – his performance at Release Athens 2025, on July 16, will be cancelled,” the announcement read.
According to the organizers, ticket holders have the option to attend one of the remaining four festival days using their existing tickets, attend Beth Gibbons’ performance at the Lycabettus Theater on July 20, or request a full refund.
The organizers also stated that, despite Morrissey’s cancellation, the July 16 performances by Supergrass and The Damned will still go ahead as planned, with free entry for all Release Athens 2025 ticket holders.
