A symbol of beauty, Apollo was above all the god of music and sunlight in Greek mythology. It’s no coincidence, then, that Lyon – currently sweltering under the scorching heat – is announcing the opening of a new music venue: we’re right in the sights of the gods of Olympus. Another wink: we learn that the name of the venue is inspired by a star in Greek mythology… Holy zeus!
Be that as it may, 2025 is a mythical year in which music definitely rhymes with epic. With a record harvest of festivals and XXL concerts such as Dua Lipa’s (the only French date), Lyon is playing in the big league. And to complete this impressive picture, the city is treating itself to a new venue, due to open in a few months’ time. In short, it’s one more step towards establishing its status as a true European capital of culture. The show must go on!
Fiducial Astéria: the temple for the international and local scene
We all remember a concert where the sound was so good it gave us goose bumps. Well, Fiducial Astéria promises to bring that emotion to life in spades. Adjacent to the LDLC Arena, this ultramodern venue is a real jewel of technology. It has been designed to welcome both international artists and local talent in the best possible conditions.
Its modularity is almost infinite: it can accommodate up to 3,500 spectators (twice the capacity of Le Transbordeur), while adapting to more intimate formats to host concerts, one-man shows, shows or even sporting competitions.
First names already confirmed
Just announced, the venue is unveiling its first headliners: Kompromat will play there on January 30, 2026, Ofenbach on February 26, while the opening night will be orchestrated by the prestigious Ed Banger label. Enough to make your mouth water…
In the meantime, we’ll have to wait a few more months for the final work to be completed and the venue to fine-tune its final settings before opening at the end of October. Another piece of good news is that some fifteen positions will soon be available to ensure the venue’s security and logistics. Summer has barely begun, and yet we’ve never been so impatient for autumn to arrive. Apollon has a lot to look forward to. Find all the info you need directly on the venue’s website.
