Mac DeMarco has returned with the announcement of his new album, Guitar, and has also shared a video for its lead single “Home.” He’s also announced some U.S. and Asia tour dates in 2026. Guitar is due out August 22 via his own label, appropriately named Mac’s Record Label. Check out the video for “Home,” album details, and new tour dates below.
Guitar will be the Alberta-born, Los Angeles-based artist’s first full-length release since the location-based instrumental album Five Easy Hotdogs (from 2023) and the 199-track hard drive clearer One Wayne G (also from 2023). DeMarco made the album almost entirely by himself—including mixing and shooting the music videos and album artwork on tripods—with the exception of the album’s mastering done by David Ives. The album was recorded over a week-long period in November of last year.
DeMarco says the new single “Home” is, unsurprisingly, “a song I wrote at my home in Los Angeles about what home means to me.” The video for the song is shot as DeMarco canoes near his mom’s home in Canada.
“I think Guitar is as close to a true representation of where I’m at in my life today as I can manage to put to paper,” he says about the album in a press release. “I’m happy to share this music, and look forward to playing these songs as many places as I’m able.”
DeMarco has also added a number of 2026 dates to his already extensive tour this year which is fully sold out. He’ll begin the tour in August with three shows at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles and now continuing through May of next year with dates across Asia and the U.S. beginning in February. Members of his label, Mock Media, Tex Crick, Daryl Johns, and Vicky Farewell will also accompany him.
