CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio – The Greek Festival at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral is scheduled for four days in July.
The fest is slated to be held July 24-27 at 3352 Mayfield Road.
This year, the festival will support the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.
In addition to an array of traditional Greek food, live Greek music and daily performances by the Hellenic Dancers are scheduled along with cooking demonstrations and tours of the church.
The fest is indoors (the hall is air-conditioned) and outside and includes a large food tent for souvlaki, gyro, fries, saganaki (flaming cheese) and more, plus a “taverna” for beer, wine and spirits.
Menu selections will include lamb shanks, moussaka and pastitsio. Desserts include baklava and other pastries.
The fest also funds ministries of the church, whose parish totals about 350 families. And every dollar donated to the food bank will be matched by the festival, up to $10,000, festival co-chair Clay White said in a press release.
