Tornos News | Aegina welcomes the 1st Aegina Jazz Festival

At the crossroads of art, history, and summer getaways, Aegina is preparing to host a new cultural institution with an international perspective. The 1st Aegina Jazz Festival premieres on July 11 and 12, 2025, transforming the iconic Kapodistrian Orphanage – a historic building that for more than a century has been a symbol of social welfare and political developments – into a stage for contemporary music and artistic creation.

The festival, organized by the Jazz Solidarity Network under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, comes to brighten the summer nights of Aegina with musical performances, improvisations, and contemporary dance, inviting locals, visitors, and music lovers from all over Greece and abroad to a unique experience.

The program includes participation of renowned groups, such as the Alekos Vretos Quartet, the Benetatos–Affolter Vocal Jazz Quartet, the Flying Jazz Trio, and the explosive Hippomaniacs, while the concerts will be accompanied by interventions of contemporary dance and live improvisation, giving a multi-sensory imprint to the event.

With an affordable ticket (15€ and early bird at 7.50€) and with the enchanting atmosphere of the island, the Aegina Jazz Festival is not just a cultural event. It is a new reason to visit Aegina in July – to get to know the alleys of the country, to taste the local flavors, to tour archaeological and historical sites, and to experience the warmth of the Argosaronic Gulf in a destination that combines proximity with authenticity.

Aegina invests in its modern cultural identity and with the 1st Aegina Jazz Festival, it is reintroduced to the public as a place that inspires and hosts, attracting the interest of a demanding travel and artistic audience.
