CLIFTON, NJ – Zoe (Joyce) Logothetis, Director of the St. George Greek Afternoon School in Clifton, NJ, shared the following statement about the school’s recent tribute to the iconic Greek singer Stelios Kazantzidis.
“Our talented students paid a beautiful tribute to the legendary Stelios Kazantzidis at this year’s End-of-the-Year performance and annual Promotion Ceremony on May 22,” she said. “Through song, history and heartfelt performances, our young scholars explored the rich era of Greek music that shaped a generation.”

“The audience was transported to an authentic Rebetiko taverna setting, complete with melodies and timeless stories that made Kazantzidis a voice of the people,” Logothetis continued. “Our students connected with their Greek heritage in the most meaningful way. What a perfect finale to another successful school year of Greek language, culture and faith learning!”

All the parents and grandparents were thanked for their unwavering support throughout the school year. Also recognized and appreciated were the community’s presiding priest Fr. Peter Souritzidis for his loving spiritual guidance, Director Zoe (Joyce) Logothetis for her dedication, and the wonderful teachers Bessie Batalas-Long, Irene Papathanasiou-Souritzidis, Fotoula Anastasopoulos, and Matina Levantis for their commitment and love.
