Get into the Greek spirit at this weekend’s Greek Festival, hosted by the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Whitestone.
The festive event, located at 11-05 150th St., kicks off on Thursday, June 5, and runs through Sunday, June 8. It features food, music, gift shops, games, rides, and more as part of the annual celebration of Queens’ vibrant Greek community and its contributions to the borough’s cultural diversity.
The family-friendly festival offers free admission and a chance to indulge in authentic Greek cuisine and desserts—from savory favorites like souvlakia, moussaka, cheese and spinach pies, to sweet treats including Greek pastries and the festival’s beloved loukoumades, made fresh on site. Guests can enjoy their food while listening to live music, browsing the gift shops, and taking part in rides and games.
The Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church has served the Queens community for 50 years and regularly hosts events that celebrate Greek heritage through luncheons, charity drives, and cultural programming. Its annual festival is a highlight of the calendar, bringing people together for a joyful weekend of food, fun, and cultural pride—open to all, regardless of background.
Festival hours are Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m., Friday from 6 to 11 p.m., Saturday from 3 to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 3 to 9 p.m. While admission is free, visitors are welcome to support the church by making a donation of any amount via its website. With warm weather finally here, the outdoor festival offers a lively way to enjoy time with friends and neighbors while celebrating the rich traditions of Greek culture.
