The Hermes Expo is proud to announce that Dimitri Geaneas will be honored at the upcoming 34th Hermes Expo Awards Dinner Gala with the prestigious title of AHEPAN of the Year. This esteemed recognition highlights his unwavering dedication, exemplary service, and remarkable contributions to the Greek-American community through his leadership within the AHEPA organization.
Dimitri Geaneas’s career reflects a commitment to excellence and community involvement. A seasoned professional with over 40 years of experience, Dimitri served as Director and Manager at Bristol Myers Squibb for 25 years and at Colgate Palmolive for 10 years, followed by a five-year tenure as a part-time consultant. His expertise in procurement, contract manufacturing, and supply-side management has left a lasting impact in the field. During his time at Bristol-Myers, he managed contract manufacturing of products totaling $700 million in sales and led task teams that achieved multi-million dollar cost savings and the introduction of new competitive products.
In 1993, at a time when supply-side management was still an emerging concept, Dimitri demonstrated his visionary thinking by delivering presentations that creatively illustrated the interconnected processes involved in manufacturing and product delivery. His pioneering efforts laid the foundation for innovative approaches in the industry.
A highly educated professional, Dimitri holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Management Science from the Stevens Institute of Technology, with a focus on Industrial Management. Originally from Sparta, Greece, he completed his high school education there before moving to the United States.
Dimitri’s contributions extend far beyond his professional achievements. He has dedicated decades of service to the Greek Orthodox community, actively participating at St. George Church in Ocean, NJ, and Kimisis in Holmdel, NJ. His roles have included Parish Council Member (25 years), President (6 years), Stewardship Chair (7 years), Festival Chair (18 years), and Treasurer. His welcoming presence in the Narthex and his thoughtfulness in calling parishioners during their name days have earned him great respect and appreciation within the community.
