ALBANY, N.Y. (WRGB) – Doors opened at 6 p.m. Friday for the 53rd annual Greek Festival at the historic St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church on Whitehall Road. The main dining hall was filled within minutes.
The three-day celebration features signature homemade dishes, including roasted lamb leg, gyro, chicken souvlaki, Spanakopita, Loukomade and much more.
Organizers say there will also be live music and dance performances. You can also tour the Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, which is more than a century old.
On Friday the festival runs from 6 to 10 pm. On Saturday, 12 pm – 10 pm, and on Sunday from 12 – 6 p.m.
Tickets are $5 per day. Children under 12 are free.
