Klavdia Papadopoulou—known artistically as Klavdia—is ready to represent Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, which will be held in Basel, Switzerland this week. Although born in 2003, Klavdia has already managed to capture national attention and appears more than ready to step onto one of the world’s biggest musical stages.
From Aspropyrgos to the Eurovision Stage
Raised in Aspropyrgos, a suburb of Athens, Klavdia displayed a strong affinity for music from a very early age. Her talent became widely known in 2018, when, at just 15 years old, she competed on The Voice of Greece. Under the mentorship of Eurovision winner Helena Paparizou, she made it all the way to the finals, impressing both judges and viewers with her performances.

A Rising Career in Music
In 2020, Klavdia made her recording debut with the single “Lonely Heart”, which quickly gained popularity with Greek audiences. Since then, she has been signed to Panik Records and collaborates closely with the production team Arcade, known for their work with major Greek artists. Together, they’ve released several well-received tracks, including “Charamata” (Dawn), “Vasanizomai” (I’m Tormented), and “Magevmena” (Enchanted).
Second Time’s the Charm
Klavdia had previously attempted to represent Greece at Eurovision in 2023 with her song “Holy Water”, though she wasn’t selected at the time. Undeterred, she returned this year with the powerful and emotionally charged song “Asteromata” (Starry Eyes), which won her the coveted ticket to Eurovision 2025.
What sets “Asteromata” apart is its deeply personal connection to Klavdia’s heritage. The song draws inspiration from the forced displacement of the Pontic Greeks, a subject that resonates strongly with her as someone of Pontic descent. Blending contemporary pop with traditional Greek musical elements, the song struck an emotional chord with the public from the moment it was released.

A Life-Long Dream Realized
In interviews, Klavdia has expressed her lifelong admiration for the Eurovision Song Contest, describing it as a “magical world” she’s dreamed of being a part of since childhood. With her signature style, emotive vocals, and unique musical blend of tradition and modernity, she is now set to represent Greece on the international stage.
Interestingly, although she had previously assumed she’d compete with an English-language track, Klavdia has since shared that she now feels more confident and authentic singing in Greek, which is the language of her Eurovision 2025 entry. That decision has been met with positive reviews, with her performance already considered one of the early favorites.
