Marina Satti, who represented Greece with her song “ZARI” at Eurovision 2024, has been invited by Swiss organizers to perform at one of the three shows of Eurovision 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. The announcement was made on Sunday, May 4, 2025.
In a video shared on social media, Satti stated: “Good evening everyone! I’m Marina Satti from Greece. I’ll be in Basel this year, and I hope to see you there!” Satti’s performance of “ZARI” earned her 11th place at last year’s contest in Malmö, Sweden.
Eurovision 2025: Themes and Highlights
According to the Swiss Public Broadcasting (SRG SSR) and the official Eurovision website, Eurovision 2025, held from May 13–17 at St. Jakobshalle in Basel, will feature three distinct themes under the slogan “Welcome Home”, marking the contest’s return to Switzerland, where it began in 1956:
- Semi-Final 1 (May 13): A tribute to Switzerland, the birthplace of Eurovision.
- Semi-Final 2 (May 15): A celebration of Eurovision fans.
- Grand Final (May 17): A festive showcase of 26 competing countries vying for the iconic glass trophy.
The shows will be hosted by Hazel Brugger and Sandra Studer for the semi-finals, with Michelle Hunziker joining for the grand final.
Swiss Heritage and Special Performances
Embracing the motto “United By Music”, Eurovision 2025 will blend Swiss musical identity with global pop culture. A highlight will be a medley performance by Swiss Eurovision alumni Paola (1969, 1980), Peter, Sue & Marc (1971, 1976, 1979, 1981), Luca Hänni (2019), and Gjon’s Tears (2020, 2021), celebrating Switzerland’s Eurovision legacy.
A tribute to Nemo’s 2024 victory in Malmö, which brought the contest back to Switzerland, will also be featured. More details will be shared via SRG SSR and Eurovision’s official social media channels in the coming weeks.
