This year’s Cypriot representative, Theo Evan, appeared on the Greek talk show “Super Katerina” this Friday, where he discussed staging concept for his Eurovision 2025 entry “Shh”.
Theo revealed that his staging in Basel will be unexpected. The artist described the preparation process as very intense and physically demanding, sharing he traveled to Spain on three occasion to reherse the act with the team.
Contrary to expectations, Theo confirmed he will not be dancing during the performance, despite his previous experience in dancing. Instead, the performance will focus on the concept behind the song, which revolves around a mysterious figure, a “secret person” who will be revealed in Basel for the first time. The represetative acknowledged the reveal is a risky move but expressed his excitement about the concept and full trust in his Eurovision team.
This year’s Cypriot staging is directed by Sergio Jaen, the acclaimed Spanish staging director who gained recognition for his memorable work on Ireland’s 2024 entry. Meanwhile, the Spanish choreographer Borja Rueda will be responsible for the choreography of the Cypriot performance.
Theo Evan will close Semi-Final One, performing 15th with “Shh” on May 13.

Cyprus debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981. Their best result was in 2018, with Eleni Foureira and the performance of the song “Fuego” won second place with 436 points. Before then, their best results in the contest came in the form of three fifth-place finishes. In 2004, Lisa Andreas performed “Stronger Every Minute” in Istanbul, Turkey. She finished 5th in the final scoring 170 points, which included 12 points from Greece. They also placed fifth in 1997 with Hara & Andreas Constantinou and their song “Mana mou”, and in 1982 with Anna Vissi’s “Mono i agapi.”
