2 tbsp red wine vinegar
5 tbsp lemon juice
1/3 cup Greek yogurt
1/4 cup olive oil

Looks amazing!! A thought: Insteasd of waiting til the internal is to temp, shave off the outside every few min as it hits temp. Take the shavings out of the oven and keep them covered. This way your chicken won't overcook on the outside and you will have tons of crispy bits just like they do with vertical rotisseries. Even more ideal at home would probably be to to skewer the chicken as kebabs . Sear on high heat and rotate. Pull when done.

This is not chicken gyro it's middle eastern shawarma. It's morally bankrupt fur the creater to call it something different knowing it's not. They only thing he is using that is Greek is the sauce.

I am greek and this marinade is completely wrong its more indian then greek haha, also it is not gyro with out being cooked over charcoal on a spit 🙂 also the salad dressing is not greek. my ansesters are crying

I was wondering it smoking or grilling it without the weapon would be okay until you mentioned putting it back in the sauce. Going to have to try this.

Flavor is fantastic….but 90 minutes is not accurate at all. At 90 I had to bump up to 425 just to get it to cook through. Be prepared for a slow cook.

Great recipie but, you don't add lettuce to a gyros. Also, gyros is pronounced Yee-Ros. If you can't say it right then don't cook it!
How do you know when it's done? You didnt take its temperature. Also, if you use a potato (or an onion), then over the course of 90 mins or two hours, it will fully bake and get soft, and then the whole thing will fall over, wont it? 😆
