Thessaloniki, Greece – March 17, 2025
Stella Michailidou, crowned Star Hellas 2024, is set to represent Greece at the 72nd Miss World pageant, taking place from May 7 to May 31 in Telangana, India. The 22-year-old model, dancer, and athlete from Thessaloniki will carry the Greek flag on a global stage, aiming to showcase the strength and values of the modern Greek woman.

In an exclusive interview with Secret, a supplement of Parapolitika newspaper, Michailidou expressed her excitement and sense of duty. “It’s a great honor and a tremendous responsibility,” she said. “This isn’t just a beauty pageant—it’s a platform for cultural heritage, philanthropy, and women’s empowerment. I’m preparing with the discipline and vision of an athlete heading to the Olympics.”

Michailidou’s journey to Miss World holds special significance as India was the site of Greece’s last victory in 1996, when Irene Skliva claimed the crown. “Bringing the crown back would be a dream,” she admitted, “but my goal is broader—to highlight the dynamism of Greek women, with or without a title.”
A multifaceted talent, Michailidou balances her career as a professional model with passions for dance, tennis, and piano. “Dance is my freedom, tennis teaches me discipline, and the piano brings me peace,” she shared. Beyond the spotlight, she describes herself as “simple and authentic,” valuing meaningful connections over fleeting attention.
Supported by her family and a dedicated team—including pageant director Panos Zinas, dance therapy expert Galena Velikova, and international coaches Joselo Sostre and Steven Bonilla—Michailidou is ready to make her mark. “I want to inspire Greek women to dream big and claim what they deserve,” she said. If victorious, she plans to dedicate her win to her supporters and all Greek women.
The 72nd Miss World pageant will bring together contestants from nearly 120 countries, offering Michailidou a chance to connect with inspiring women worldwide. Greece watches with pride as its young star steps onto this prestigious stage.
