PORTUGAL: Don’t miss the Grand Final of Festival da Canção 2025 tonight

After two weeks, the Festival da Canção 2025, which will determine Portugal’s next representative at Eurovision, will close tonight.

For the 57th year, RTP organizes in Lisbon, the Festival da Canção, the Festival that honors Portuguese music, highlights new artists and selects Portugal’s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest.

This year’s festival featured 20 artists – and 20 composers – half of whom competed in Semi-Final 1 and the other half in Semi-Final 2. The two Semi-Finals took place on Saturday, February 22 and Saturday, March 1, from which 6 entries respectively qualified. Today, Saturday, March 8, the Grand Final will take place with 12 finalists vying for the first place that will secure them the “ticket” to Basel.

The big night will be hosted by Filomena Cautela (presenter of Eurovision 2018) and Vasco Palmeirim. The evening will be broadcast at 22:00 CET (23:00 Greek time) on RTP1 and RTP International.
As always, the result will be determined 50% by committees of music professionals and 50% by the television audience vote.

The poll data

This year, the predictions for who will win the Festival da Canção 2025 are not clear. According to the Eurovision World poll, Josh is in the lead with 32%, followed by HENKA with 28% and in 3rd place is Fernando Daniel with 12%. On the other hand, in the wiwibloggs poll, Fernando Daniel is ahead. Accordingly, on YouTube, the first entries in terms of views are those of Josh, Fernando Daniel, Peculiar and HENKA.

Here you can see the results of our own poll conducted by OGAE Greece and open for a week. According to it, in the top three we see Josh with 44.2%, Fernando Daniel with 21.4% and HENKA with 14.1%.
