PORTUGAL: Watch tonight the Second Semi-Final of the Festival da Canção 2025

Song Festival 2025

The Festival da Canção 2025 continues tonight with the 2nd Semi Final in order to select Portugal’s next representative at Eurovision.

Lisbon hosts the Festival da Canção, the historic festival that has been celebrating high quality music, the Portuguese language and introducing new artists since 1964. The Second Semi-Final will be broadcast tonight by RTP1, Portugal’s official broadcaster, at 22:00 (CET).

A week ago, the First Semi-Final of the Festival da Canção took place, from which 6 very different artists advanced to the Final. Specifically, Jessica Pina, Josh, Marco Rodrigues, Bluay, Margarida Campelo and Peculiar (in the second round of televoting) qualified.

The 2nd Semi-Final will be presented by Tânia Ribas de Oliveira and Sónia Araújo . The result of the semi-finals is determined 50% by television voting and 50% by a seven-member (national) jury. Regarding the qualification of the 6th artist, this is done exclusively by television voting. The jury is composed of:

  • Iolanda (Portugal Representative 2024)
  • Kady (Singer)
  • Miguel Ribeiro (Singer)
  • Tiago Nacarato (Composer)
  • Fábia Rebordão (Composer)
  • Martim Sousa Tavares (Presenter)
  • Margarida Pinto Correia (Journalist)

You can listen to the candidate songs for the Second Semi-Final below, by clicking on their title.

Let’s take a look at the last candidate, Henka, as she differs from the other proposals and is being mentioned as one of the favorites of the festival. I Wanna Destroy U is a strong rock song and the only entry in this year’s edition that is sung in English. The audio video has already hit more than 230 thousand views. We just have to see the stage performance she will present tonight, to see if she has any chance of winning next Saturday.

  • First Semi-Final: February 22, 2025
  • Second Semi-Final: March 1, 2025
